ABOUT US
Abuse, abandonment, poverty, and neglect leave thousands of people hopeless after being trafficked. After shelter care, these victims have a very long road ahead of them. Once on their own, many experience depression, and suicidal thoughts and are very vulnerable to entering the sex industry again. For most, safe employment and higher education remain out of reach. Without an advocate, there is little hope. That's where The Next Step ND bridges the gap and meets the needs of those who have been trafficked or have been affiliated with human trafficking and are looking for long-term healing and restoration.
As a group of Christian men and women of all ages, there is one thing that unites us all...Restoring faith, hope, and love in the context of community to those who are hurting.

To meet financial needs: Many victims of human trafficking have little when leaving shelter care. The Next Step ND helps meet the financial needs of survivors as they get back on their feet and adjust back into the community.

To encourage, in the context of community: More important than money, survivors are in great need of emotional support with new, positive, and healthy relationships. The Next Step ND works to meet the human need of being in a community of others by building trusted friendships with loving people.

To prevent this from happening: Along with helping survivors, we are also working on prevention through awareness and educational speaking events at churches, schools, homes, or anywhere else we are asked to share.
The Next Step ND has been able to serve survivors in many ways:

Auto: cars, repairs, maintenance, gas, and gift cards.

Growth: empowerment programs, emotional support, and tuition.

Health: eyecare, medication, pet care, and other medical needs.

Self-care: Blessing bags for homeless youth, devotionals, planners, and journals.

Family: cribs, car seats, baby needs, child care, holiday/birthday gifts, family entertainment.

Shelter: food, rent, utilities, bedding, furniture, home decor, kitchen supplies, clothing, phone minutes, and hotel rooms.
